I know, I know...

Okay I know I sent out an SOS regarding my need for weightloss support, so please keep laughing to a minimum as you read on.:)
I wanted to let everyone know that I went with my dad and son's to The Cheesecake Factory today to take advantage of their 30th anniversary special, $1.50 per slice of cheesecake. I accounted for the calories and only ate 2 bites of each of the 3 pieces the boys and I got. They were AMAZING!!!!!!
So, to all of you that live near a cheesecake factory, you may want to take advantage of the deal. You can get 1 slice of any of their cheesecakes, per person, for $1.50 (dine-in only, but you can get it "togo". We have enough cheesecake left over to take care of dessert for my family for the next 2 - 3 nights.

Sending out a SOS

Hello to all! I am really struggling to meet my goal of (-)75 lbs weightloss by November 26, 2008. I am 21 lbs shy. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in starting a weightloss group. I am want to open the doors to anyone who desires to loose 15 or more lbs. Let me know if you are interested and I will send out an e-mail to everyone and we will set up our first meeting.
Thanks.

A receipe and some new pics...

First things first... I mentioned my Mom's zucchini bread receipe so I thought I'd share it.
3 eggs
1 cup oil
2 cups sugar
~ Combine. Beat at med speed for 2 minutes.~

3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
3 tsp cinnamon (I don't know why it doesn't say 1 TBSP but this is
how the recipe reads and I figure why mess with perfection.)
~ Sift together and add to the oil mixture. Beat at med speed for 1 min.~

1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups chopped zucchini (finely or chunky, whatever you like.)
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
~ Add to batter until blended. Bake in a 13x9 baking dish (sprayed with
cooking spray) for 1 hour.
* I usually cut the cake into 3 - 4 four "loaves".
* It makes a ton! Freezes well.

Bridget, my Dad and Mom got a new puppy last weekend. She is soooo sweet!

We have decided to remove the gate that has been keeping the boys out of our kitchen. I decided it would benefit us all if Collin new a little about what actually goes on in there, so he and I made yummy applesauce with yellow squash puree muffin's. He was so proud!

Yesterday my dad introduced us to Charleston Falls. It is a beautiful Miami county park, just north of Huber Heights. There is a lot to see there and the boys loved it. We hiked, played in the creek and we even saw 3 snakes sunning themselves on the rocks at the bottom of the waterfall.

I made a picnic lunch for us to enjoy before we went on our long hike.

Aaron, Grandpa and Noah monkeying around.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

The boys love to ride on Daddy and Grandpa's shoulder's.

When did Collin loose a leg? You think we would have noticed? OOPS!

Cavemen.

Dell-henge.

Beautiful boy!

Looking for crawdad's with Daddy.

Well, that's what we've been up to. Oh yea, Collin is officially day-time potty trained!! Next time you see him, please congratulate my little champion! We are SO proud of him! Way to go big guy!

Okay,
The ultrasound indicated that my pancreas, gallbladder and kidneys are in great shape~WOO-HOO!
However, there did look to be fluid on my lungs. ?? What? Anyway, I am going to go Monday to get an x-ray of my chest to confirm or deny this possibility.

potty update... and then some...

Collin is still doing great in regards to potty training! He has had NO accidents for two days and he was even dry when he woke up from his nap today.
In other news...
Noah went to his swimming lesson today and was able to swim by himself while only using a water noodle for balance.
I can't believe how fast my boys are growing up.
One last thing...
This year has been a challenging one for me as far as illness goes. I went to the doc today about a pain in my back that has been bothering me for several months. I will go tomorrow for an ultrasound to look at my pancreas, gallbladder and kidney's. Please pray for patience as we set forth on another journey to discover what in the world is going on now.
Thanks.

Who knew, I have a green thumb.

This is the first veggie I have grown! I am so excited! I started a VERY small garden this year and this is the first zucchini that was ready to pick.
I made some delicious bread with it.
Yummy!

Anyone???

Hello all,
I am experiencing pain in my right foot, I have been since right after Collin was born, it is arch pain. I was wondering if anyone has dealt with this issue and if I need to set an appointment with a foot doc or if I should just buy some OTC arch supports.
Thanks!

Target deal

I was at Target on Fairfield Rd. today and they had some great shoe deals for kids.
They had girls shoes (light blue "croc" with straps and black shoes with flower clip buckles) for $2.49 a pair and they had boys shoes for great deals as well, I got Noah a new pair of Thomas shoes (look like Vans slip on) for $6.49.
Just thought I'd share.

Potty Training Number Two

I cannot believe it, Collin is now deep in the world of potty training. He began to show signs of readiness about 2 weeks before our trip to Virginia, but I wanted to wait to start his training until we returned home. I am happy to report that he LOVES to go potty on the big potty. He claps and laughs and sings. He is totally into his potty chart too and love to put the Thomas the Train stickers on it. We have only been working on this for a few days and by day 2 he was already going "poo", which took Noah a little longer to feel comfortable enough to do. I must admit that I am shocked at his eagerness and ability to go potty. I am so proud of my big boy!!
Here is a picture of him celebrating before putting the first sticker on his chart and the big guy next to his potty chart!

Vacation 2008 wrap-up

Sunday evening, we headed to a HUGE 4th of July event sponsored by Thomas Road church, in Lynchburg. The church uses this special time of the year as an opportunity to witness to literally thousands of people. They had so much to do and it was all FREE!! Here are some highlights...

The kids loved the inflatable bouncy houses and slides.

They had horse ride set up, too. You had to be 3 to ride, so Collin missed out, but Noah was able to ride. Parents weren't allowed to accompany the children, so this made him feel even more grown up.
"Where's Noah?"

Our little Cow Poke.

At one point it began to rain, so we went to the van and watched a dvd while the rain passed through. On the way back to the "festival" we got to ride the shuttle bus. Noah ALWAYS asks to ride school buses or RTA buses - now he has. This was a big moment for him, but unfortunately it was overshadowed by him not having his backpack. He said he needed it for the bus.:)

This is the most accurate of all of our family picture's taken during our trip. Collin was cranky almost the whole time, now I understand because he looks like he has shot up about 2 - 3 inches. Anyway, this picture is entitled, "if you can't beat 'Em join 'Em.

Collin and Noah ABSOLUTELY LOVE Aunt Jen! Here is my favorite shot of Collin and Jenny. She can really get him laughing!

The evening ended with a giant motorcycle rally, gospel presentation, live music and fireworks.

The next morning, at 4:30!! we hit the road! Thank you, Aunt Jen and Miss Rachael for your hospitality! Thank you Jenny for showing us a wonderful time! We love you!
