Painting the sidewalk

Yesterday we needed a little bit of outside fun and I had promised the boys that they could paint. My friend Lisa, about a week ago, suggested painting on the sidewalk and washing it off. So....that is what we did. I decided to leave it instead of washing it off because I think the boys would have been heartbroken if Daddy didn't get to see what they did. They thought it was so silly to paint the sidewalk. Collin is yelling "PAINTING" for the camera. ( It sounded more appropriate a command than "cheese".) He just looks angry.LOL!
I think it is interesting how they claimed their paint plate immediately. I was encouraging them to mix colors and use all three colors too, but they were pretty loyal to the initial color they had chosen.
Noah did go for some purple, blue and yellow. Collin eventually added yellow to his red. They were so proud of their work and couldn't wait to show Daddy. FYI Tempra paint came off the Crocs with hot soapy water and a tiny bit of elbow grease!:)

Goodbye cabin fever... hello summer love!

This evening after a eating a delicious dinner, we headed out to the backyard for some fun in the sandbox. Please note Collin's amazing style. He is wearing the shirt he wore to church this morning and a pair of Noah's pajama shorts that he decided to wear at nap time today. Oh, of course he finished the outfit with the ever present froggy boots.

Then, we got out the bigwheel and Noah's "big bike with the big horn" and headed for the sidewalk in front of our house.

Collin can't reach the pedal's, but he sure likes to pretend.

Noah can really make the bike go fast now. He even does a great job steering.

One more thing, we have new neighbor's and they have a little girl, Reagan, and a baby on the way. Noah was talking to her tonight and gave her a flower from our yard. When he came inside, he said "Mom I want to play with that girl over there. She is really pretty and I want to kiss her". OH BOY!

Picture update, making up for lost time.

Here are some random pics for you...

Noah winking.

Collin winking.

I blogged about this pic the other day! Noah finally wanted to draw a person. This is his first stick figure, he said it was "Jesus".

Noah really loves to help in the kitchen. To be honest he actually is a big help. He helps me set the table for dinner every day and will clear all of the dishes after we eat. Here he is helping me make grilled cheese sandwich's. I had to scrape off about 2 TBSP of butter before I put them on the griddle, but he did an amazing job!!

Why the delay...

Okay, so I am fully intending on posting the second entry on Christmas, but I am having camera uploading problem's. It may be the middle of February, but I will put up Chistmas day pics with Aaron's side of the family.

Things have been really crazy here. I think that Jan has actually been more busy than Dec. It is crazy. I will not recap on the first 1/2 of the month, but I will happily take you through the happenings of today. :)
This morning I was ACTIVE!! Praise the Lord. Not only was I able to work out for almost 40 minutes, I also got to play in the snow with my boys. Last winter I was in a lot of pain and unable to be an active mommy, so this year, I am trying to make up for lost time. I am learning to take time to listen to my body so I do not overdo it, but I am carefully pushing myself so I can get the most out of every minute. I am so thankful for today.
Let me give you an idea of how things went down here. My dad helped Noah make a perfect snow angel. Noah stood up to look at his masterpiece and Collin decided to give it a try himself. Well, something got lost in translation. I looked up from Noah's beautiful snow angel to see Collin rolling (as if down hill) across the yard all the way over to Noah's angel where he promptly rolled right over Noah's angel. Thankfully Noah had moved onto making snowballs and he didn't care at all.

Buzz and Woody

Here is a pic of Noah and Collin last weekend at their first ever Halloween costume party. My Mom's boss hosted the party and here is a great picture she took of my little guys. I can't believe they were both looking at the camera AND smiling. Woo-hoo!
They had a blast!

a few words on my boys...

My best friend suggested I share some cute stories of my boys on my blog. Here you go Steph...

***While visiting Mommy in the hospital a couple of weeks ago Noah discovered the curtain that is used to provide privacy around the bed. In no time at all here is what evolved...
Noah : "Daddy you need to move your chair over there."(pointing near my sister)
Aaron: Moved his chair, interested in what that as all about.
Noah: "Come over here Collin."
Collin: Following Noah's instruction, joined his brother.
Noah : Closes the curtain. "Ladies and 'Gentlermen', presenting the Garfield show"
Swiftly opening the curtain, hands thrown into the air with great
excitement! "Ta-da!"
Collin : Grinning from ear to ear.
Followed by singing and entertainment for quite a while. The best show in town! 2 Mommy thumbs up!

***The week I was first released from the hospital the boys and I stayed at my parents house. The kids were in Heaven enjoying 24/7 Grandma and Grandpa time. My dad took Noah down to the tennis courts in their neighborhood with his bike to work on the art of cycling. The outing only lasted about 15 minutes. While on the way back to the house...
Noah : Stopped dead in his tracks, folded his arms across his chest, stared angrily
at my Dad and said, "Grandpa, I am mad at you!"
Grandpa : "Why" (holding back laughter)
Noah : "Yesterday I was trying to make a point and you took it."
Grandpa : "What?"
Noah : " Yes, you stole my point and my power."
Grandpa : "I am sorry."
Noah : dropped the angry pose and never spoke of it again.

*** The day before surgery, Jenny (my sister) and I took the kids to our favorite park. I was chasing Noah around and Jen was pushing Collin in the swing, his favorite park pass time. Out of nowhere Collin breaks out into song. "Swing swing swing swing". The boy is always quiet and this outburst was music to my heart!
While I was in the hospital, Jenny called me to let me hear Collin's new song style. He sings out at the top of his lungs. "Sunny Days, AHHHHHHHH! clouds away...."
Beautiful.

*** Last night I was hugging and kissing Noah before bed and I asked him what he was going to do today. "He said he was going to see Katiegrace, (Aaron's cousin Donna is keeping the boys for us at her house and the kids love to play with her kids Katiegrace and baby Anniemarie), and I am going to smile at her."

*** The night before surgery, the kids spent the night with a wonderful family from church, the Lanni's. I was a bit concerned considering the kids had only slept away from us with my parents, not even Aaron's folks. I wasn't sure how it was going to go. Aaron and I bathed this situation in prayer. Well, when we got to their home, Collin heard Mrs. Lanni say they could watch a Veggie Tale movie before bed. That was enough for him. He made himself right at home and pulled an Elmo chair away from the wall and promptly positioned himself in front of the TV. He looked at us and said, "Bye-Bye."
Noah, ran to the door and announced, "Here you go, I will get the door for you." He held the door and said, " Bye, see you later." Thanks God, that couldn't have gone better! :)
